University Manor

The majority of residents are graduate and upper level female students at UH Manoa.  Most are from foreign countries including China , Japan, Thailand, and European nations.  A few are from the continental United States and the State of Hawaii.  All are interested in pursuing their studies in a quiet residential  environment.

Since University Manor does not offer a meal program, it is not the ideal housing environment for undergraduates.  Residents are responsible for cooking their own meals and although there are restaurants nearby, getting to them require a bus ride or walk.

While each resident has a private room, three to four residents share a bathroom that includes a shower, toilet, and sink.  Bathrooms are cleaned by a housekeeping service several times a week.  Residents are expected to clean up after themselves and keep their bathroom clean in between cleaning service.

University Manor is designated for full time students (8 credit hours for graduates and 12 credit hours for undergraduates).  Residents must submit a proof of enrollment every semester to verify their fulltime student status.

The lease term is structured to coincide with the academic school year.  However, the dorm is open throughout the year and residents need not move out at the end of each semester.  For example, if you plan to attend the University for two years, it is possible to sign a lease for the academic school year and extend your lease through the summer and following school year.
